Maggie Grace, born Margaret Grace Denig on September 21, 1983 in Worthington Ohio, is an American actress. She is famous for her role as Shannon Rutherford and Kim Mills as well in ABC's Lost television series. The couple had separated and they moved together with their mother into Los Angeles. It was a struggle to make ends meet when she got her first role in acting in the film Rachel's Room's main character. In 2002 she was nominated for an Young Artist Award with her role as 15-year old murder victim Martha Moxley. Grace played Shannon Rutherford on the Lost television show in 2004. The show featured her as the principal role for two seasons, and won an award for her performance, a Screen Actors Guild Award. Leaving the series Grace wanted to appear as a film actress, and had been cast as the opposite of Tom Welling in The Fog in 2005. She starred as Kim Mills opposite Liam Neeson (both in Taken the year 2008) as Suburban Girl as well as The Jane Austen Book Club. She reprised her role in Taken 2 (2011) and Taken 3 (2013).She also played Alice in Malice in Wonderland, a contemporary adaptation of the Lewis Carroll novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace reprised her role as Shannon in Lost in the series, which included the conclusion. The year 2013 saw Grace appear in Californianation, the sixth season. She is part of the Gyllenhaal clan and the younger sister of Jake Gyllenhaal. Her career began as a teenager when she appeared in small roles in several films that her father directed. In addition, she was a part of her brother in 2001's popular film Donnie Darko. Later, she was on Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (both 2002) as well as Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal has received acclaim from critics for her performance in the erotic romantic comedy drama Secretary (2002) as well as the thriller Sherrybaby (2006) each of which earned her the Golden Globe Award nomination.
